Crochet Baby Zebra Hat

Hook:
H/8-5.00mm
Abbreviations:
MR- Magic Ring
ch- chain
sl st- slip stich

Hat

Note: chain 2 does NOT count as DC at any point, unless said otherwise. 
Rnd 1) MR, ch 2, DC12 inside ring, join to 1st DC, ch 2
Rnd 2) 2 DC in same stitch and in eah around, join, ch 2 (24)
Rnd 3) DC in same stitch and ch 2, DC, DC, 2 DC in next, *DC in next 3, 2 DC in next, repeat from * around, join to 1st DC, ch 2 (30)
Rnd 4) DC in the same stitch as ch 2, DC, 2 DC in next, *DC in next 2, 2 DC in next stitch, repeat from * around, join to 1st DC, ch 2. (40)
Rnd 5-9) DC in same stitch as ch 2, DC around, join to 1st DC, ch 2 (40)
Rnd 10) Ch 1, HDC around, join to 1st HDC

Ears:

ch4, slst for form a ring
Rnd 1: ch1, sc in ring 5 times, slst to form a ring (6)
Rnd 2: ch1, sc in same st, sc in next 2 sts, 2sc in next st, sc in next 2 sts, slst to join (8)
Rnd 3: ch1, sc in each st around, slst to join (8)
Rnd 4: ch1, sc in same st, sc in next st, *2sc in next st, sc in next st, repeat from * around, slst to join (12)
Rnd 5: ch1, sc in each st around, slst to join (12) (for infant sizes: skip to small size to finish)
Rnd 6: ch1, sc in same st, sc in next 2 sts, *2sc, sc in next 2 sts, repeat from * around, slst to join (16)
Rnd 7 – Rnd 9: ch1, sc in each st around (16)
Fasten off and leave a long enough tail to sew.
Now pinch the ears at the bottom and sew along it to close it off. (Personally I sew back up it to make it more secure.)

Sew ears to the hat, I eyeballed it but it you want to get technical sew on rows 6-8 at an angle.

Hair:

Now get your color yarn you want to use and cut about 6 inches (4 to a group), and tie it to the hat (I did the loop and pull not the bunny ears) now get a fine tooth comb and start combing out to where it looks like this, (looks like hair, and don't worry if a lot comes out it does that). I did 2 to a row but you can add as much as you want. And trim to your liking.

TIP: Start at the ends and work your way the the knot.
